Continuing the Insurrection! - The Dandelion Insurrection Book Club will meet at the Presque Isle Library House with Rivera (the author) on July 24th at 5pm to continue the discussion of this series. If you haven't read the book/s, we highly encourage you to do so! You can check out all of her resources and purchase a book at riverasun.com.

Opioid Settlement Funds Action

A local group of concerned residents have been taking action around the county commissioners' recent decision to fund a School Resource Officer position for six central Aroostook schools. The SRO is planned to be a sworn Sheriff's Deputy who will work patrol. Eight folks showed up to the county commissioners meeting in June to testify against the process and the program. At the June 30th opioid taskforce meeting, five members spoke up to ask the minutes reflect they did not approve of the process and were not excited about the program as they had never seen a proposal to explain what the program was.

AOC Gather & Grow

We will not be hosting a July meeting but encourage you all to attend the Potato Blossom parade to walk with the Democrats and then attend their BBQ after to meet some candidates and get involved locally

The Radical Book Club read Coming Up Short by Robert Reich. We are still in discussion about providing his class, Wealth & Poverty, to our community. More info to come!
